Weekly Chronicle - 2 Weeks Worth

With the majority of our free time being spent on house projects, there isn't much time for blogging.  I skipped a Weekly Chronicle last week so here is a post catching me up.
Every morning when Charlotte's lamp comes on, signaling time to start waking up, she calls Fern into her room for snuggle time.

Fern has always considered herself a princess.

Lasagna made with polenta instead of cheese and noodles.  So delicious and easy.  Just layer your pasta sauce with polenta made with this recipe (that I spread onto a sheet pan and refrigerated for a few hours).  This doesn't store well in the fridge much past 48 hours though because polenta gives off water after a day or two.
After 10 years of faithful, nearly daily service, my food processor has died.  It will be missed.  Anyone have a recommendation for a large, high powered food processor under $200?

Turkey pot pies

My sister, Katie, made a shadow Llama.  We're all very proud of her.

Homemade "Olive Garden" salad dressing.  Though I haven't been to the Olive Garden in a few years, I'm told this dressing is close to the real thing.

Lemon cloud cake. I promise I'll post the recipe soon. I've made it twice and it's now my favorite cake.

Evan couldn't get "Blue Bunny" to sit up for the parade so Evan used yarn to harness him.

Katie, kids, and dogs... love this huge couch!

Buford, what sad eyes you have.
Elmer, what a small space you take up when you sit down.

Um, Fern. You seem to be stuck.

Before Katie went home, she taught her dogs a new trick.  Elmer really wants that stick.
Yay, Buford! Way to jump!

The view from the back door.

Evan's new sweater.
I actually knit it this past summer but it needed to be tweaked.  The neckline was too stretchy and the button holes were weird.  I stabilized the neckline with a single row of crochet and fixed the button holes.  He loves his "new" sweater.  He loves the airplane buttons.

Charlotte came home from her 100th day of school devastated.  After counting up to the 100th day of school and lots of anticipation, her class didn't do a single fun thing to celebrate the day.  She was heartbroken.  I told her she could come up with a plan to make the evening fun.  She first at 100 Cheerios and then wrote out a banner in honor of the day.
The rest of the evening included 100 hugs, 100 hoola hooping rounds, 100 noodles for dinner, and 100 sprinkles on her ice cream for dessert.  I think she ended up pleased with her 100th day of school.

Evan's latest Lego creation.  It's a "car with a lawn mower attached".

The Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West.  Charlotte made Evan's witch hat out of paper, crayon and tape.

Charlotte made Jon breakfast in bed Sunday.  She didn't think to make me breakfast in bed since I'm always the first one awake.

Jon made a quick dinner last night after a very long day of house renovation.  He must love me because he gave me a heart shaped hamburger.
