Another busy week while we get our house ready to put on the market. I spent nearly every spare moment painting cabinets and furniture this week.
Evan's new bedding arrived. He was very excited about it.
I found a set of lamps for our bedroom for $5 for the pair at a thrift store. They'll need new shades but I couldn't pass up the deal. They'll match our new bedding set that is taupe and plum.
This quote surely comes in handy when you're facing 5 hours of painting.
I found these end tables and coffee table from Ikea on Craigslist for $30.
I set up the playroom as a paint workshop. I had a lot of furniture to be painted white.
This little cabinet/door roller set that I found at Lowes has been a life saver. It puts down a lot more paint then a brush and it's squishy end can be mushed into the corners of the cabinet doors. It's made this job go a lot faster.
It's hard to reach those top cabinets. Aren't oversized sweat pants so attractive?
Here is a sample of the laminate countertops we'll be installing next to a white cabinet and the green wall color.
Step 1 complete. We still need to install the brushed nickel knobs and pulls, put down new floors, new countertops, and a tiled backsplash. Whew. Oh, and paint the walls.
Ever get the feeling that something is missing? Just when I was doing my happy dance that the cabinets were done, Jon found a cabinet door that I had forgotten about. Sigh. I'll paint that one today.
The white cabinets make the kitchen feel so much bigger and definitely make it brighter. Even though it was a lot of work, it was definitely worth it.
My bookshelf looks so much better with white paint. I've packed up most of my books so I'll be reloading it with a few favorite books and other pretty things so it will show better (lots of personal items, including books, keep potential buyers from being able to picture themselves in the house).
So, those are the highlights from last week. This week I'll be painting the bathroom vanities and finishing up few other painting projects before I start painting walls this weekend.

Wow, the cabinets look so wonderful! I cannot wait to see the kitchen once the walls are painted and the new countertops are added! It's going to look amazing! I love that quote, too. I think I may print that out!
