Super late Christmas night, my brother, Chris and his girlfriend, Nikki, drove to our house. Nikki was still in her pajamas when Charlotte begged her to play with her dollhouse.
I love this picture with Evan's eyes peeking through the dollhouse window. Later in the day we all went to Mom and Mark's. Mom's mantle looked so pretty. My sister and I used to buy her a Santa each Christmas for a while.
Nikki gave me a gorgeous set of coasters made in the Philippines out of a type of shell. Lovely!
Purple is Nikki's favorite color. I hope this set I knit her keeps her warm.
I love this little skating bear that my mom has had since we were kids. You wind it up and the little bear "skates" around the "ice".
Mom and Mark know how to do the party food right.
A very tired Evan and Jon decorated Mom's tree for her while the rest of us relaxed and watched "A Christmas Story". Jon went with a red/white candy cane look with the lights.
Evan loves legos. He and Charlotte worked on putting together one of the kits he got for Christmas.
The kids got bathtub markers and crayons from Santa. Charlotte enjoyed putting graffiti all over the tub.
Before Chris and Nikki had to head home, we grown-ups went to dinner and a movie. We went to see Le Miserables which was wonderful! Such amazing acting and such attention to detail. Well worth seeing in the theater!
We went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner afterward. It was such a fun evening that we were sad to see it end.
With the holidays coming to an end, Jon and I started working on our next major project... selling this house so we can buy our farm. We rented a storage unit and started sorting out closets and the attic. A decluttered house sells faster so declutter we shall.
Look at what I found in the attic. Can you believe it still fit after almost 10 years?!
Charlotte loved seeing my wedding dress and wanted to try it on. I can remember trying on my mom's wedding dress as a girl. We bought this armoire from Craigslist for $40! We had to hide our big, black clunker of a TV somehow before showing our house. This fit the bill. I need to touch up the finish and change out the hardware to bring it into this decade. Any other refinishing suggestions?
I made coconut donuts for New Year's Day.
Our friend got us another 2 deer for the freezer this year. He shot 2 big does that was enough meat to fill these 3 boxes. Half of it is ground and half is in roasts.
This child is growing like a weed. These pajamas fit him last year. I started laughing when he came out of his room wearing them the other night. I think it may be time to donate these jammies.

There's no room left on the mantle and no room left on the buffet with all the lighted ceramic houses but it wouldn't be Xmas without them!
