Well, it's been a while since I posted about our 30 Day Decluttering Challenge. Here is my original post about it so you can refresh your memory with the former state of our house.
Admittedly, we've lost some steam with the daily challenges but not before decluttering nearly every nook and cranny of our house. The kid's rooms still need to be finished but they have done a great job with finding things to donate.
Here are some after pictures to show our hard work.
You can actually walk into the studio now without tripping on things!
It's still a bit of a storage room but now it's down to the essentials. Our front foyer served as Donation Central.
We'd load up the foyer with donations, I'd snap a picture of the pile and list it on Freecycle or Craigslist under "Free, Must Take All" and I'd have people begging to come get it. It saved us a trip to Goodwill and it made some folks very happy that have had a rough go of it.
I was very brave and tackled our junk drawer.
Before
After!
Under the kitchen sink is no longer a place where old, ugly vases go to die. Neat, tidy and only the essentials.
The kitchen took about 2 weeks to finally declutter. I worked at it a little each day.
We still have to work at it to keep it decluttered though. What is it about kitchen counters that attract stuff?
The dining area wasn't too cluttered before but I like to snap a picture of it when it's company ready.
I'll show you a picture of our bedroom as soon as I finish putting my yarn away from my latest organizing attempt.
May was too busy to try to find time to declutter. I think we'll make this a yearly challenge but I think February would be a better month. We couldn't be happier with the results. Our house feels more comfortable and calmer.

Wow, the studio looks great!!! The whole house does! Great work!
Very impressive!! What a difference it makes and you are right - you do feel calmer when your environment is organized! I need to start back up on my plan! It really is easy when you break it down into daily pieces!! Proud of you!! Love you, Momma
